Release of PPCA Protocol Version 1.0.0 on GitHub

We are excited to announce the release of the first version of the PPCA (Population Potential on Catchment Areas) protocol, now available on GitHub. This protocol, developed as part of the EMC² research project, provides a four-step procedure for acquiring, processing, and analyzing geospatial data from OpenStreetMap (OSM) and Global Human Settlement (GHS) data using Python and associated libraries. The PPCA protocol aims at evaluating population potentials within specified pedestrian catchment areas globally, requiring only bounding box coordinates for the area of interest.

Symposium at TU Wien

In symbiosis with the emc2 project, there are courses held at TU Wien that focus on the historical linear settlements and their development in the context of the urban network with regards to the 15 minute City concept. Specifically, the courses offered this semester focus on the area of Transdanubia, which is the region on the left bank of the Danube in Vienna:
